Sudden snowfall over much of the country yesterday morning caused disruption for roads, schools and public transport.
Localised flooding is possible for the impacted counties.
The warning kicked in at 7am and will remain in place until 9pm.
Parts of Munster and Leinster are set to see heavy rainfall and difficult travelling conditions from 7pm this evening.
In the North, the public has been advised to avoid Newry City after “biblical” flooding.
Counties Cork, Kerry, Waterford, and Wexford are currently under status yellow warnings for rain.
Status Orange wind and rain warnings are in place for numerous counties across the country today.
