Some people left previous jobs under the assumption that they’d be starting their new HSE job within the next few weeks.
The HSE has said the freeze may persist to the end of June, but workers due to start before then have said they have been left in limbo.
One healthcare worker said that she may have “nowhere to live” by the end of the month because she can’t yet take up her new job.
