Assistant Chief Constable Chris Todd said the data breach appeared to be the result of ‘simple human error’.
PSNI Assistant Chief Constable Chris Todd apologised to officers, saying: ‘This is unacceptable.’
He was arrested by PSNI officers in the south Belfast area on 10 November 2022.
Niall McNally said that his family need the support and awareness of ‘everyone across the island’.
The man will appear in court tomorrow.
A group of masked men carried out the attack, police said.
Malcolm McKeown was shot dead on Monday 19 August.
Both men were arrested following searches in the Lurgan and Craigavon areas of Armagh.
