There were calls in the Dáil for Ireland to ramp up pressure on Israel overs its bombardment of Gaza.

Combat resumed shortly after Israel’s army said it had intercepted a rocket fired from Gaza.
The pause that began Friday has seen dozens of hostages freed, including Irish-Israeli nine-year-old Emily Hand.
30 Irish citizens and family members included on a list of people permitted to leave Gaza are currently at the Rafah crossing.
The Independent Group put forth the emergency motion as a ‘sign of solidarity’ but it failed to reach a majority.
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar said he would push for a humanitarian ceasefire to be called.
